MEET OUR FOUNDER

In Priya’s words…

‘From a young age I was exposed to the significance of gold. Less so from a material aspect but rather from the traditions within my cultural heritage. 

I hold many cherished memories from my childhood, one such example of my grandmother's array of beautiful bangles that sat neatly under her jumper, only exposed as she rolled up her sleeves. Her vibrant gold stack formed part of my inspiration as I began to search for my own pieces. 

My love for gold jewellery began from these fond moments in time that have become etched in my memory. Through time and after many trips to my ancestral roots in Punjab in northern India, I became called to share my love and passion for gold. 

Umara was born in response to my deep connection to my heritage, my culture and my ancestry. My wish is for every piece to signify a moment in time along your own personal journey, holding stories within its beauty.
